Fort Murchison Lodge Location and Overview
Fort Murchison Lodge is a safari accommodation facility located in the former Aswa Lolim game reserve just outside the northern boundary of Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest national park found in the Northern region of the country.
The lodge’s architectural design arouse the memory of the ancient colonial reign – the days when the Arabs dominated East Africa for trade and when the explorers sought after the source of River Nile. The lodge’s structure and high walls reflect a fort and the interior designs echo a Swahili touch.

Accommodation
Fort Murchison Lodge features 12 spacious and self-contained rooms, each fitted with an ensuite bathroom with a solar water heater, a bedroom, sitting area and a private balcony looking out to the Nile River.
Aside from the rooms, Fort Murchison Lodge has non-self-contained tents each comfortably furnished with 2 single beds, a bedside table and a power outlet for charging phones and other electronic devices. The tents share a communal block with bathrooms and flushing toilets.
Restaurant and bar
Fort Murchison Lodge has an elegant restaurant intricately designed to reflect a Swahili touch. Experienced chefs prepare tasty dishes using quality ingredients most of which are collected from the lodge’s grown garden. Special dietary requirements are considered as long as communication is made on time.
The lodge has an on-site bar which serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including premier local and international brands. The lodge has a number of spots where one can sit and unwind while sipping on a glass of cocktail or any Other beverage.
Well maintained gardens
Fort Murchison Lodge has well-tended gardens where guests can sit to enjoy starlit dinners and entertainment from local Acholi performance groups. The gardens have a good view of the enchanting Albert Nile and the surrounding natural attractions.

Fort Murchison has a supply of electricity in all its facilities. The rooms have lighting and power outlet units which allow guests to charge their phones and other electronic devices.

The lodge has a supply of clean running water in all its facilities including both hot and cold water in the ensuite bathroom facilities. The lodge has Solar water heaters to ensure the supply of hot water in the bathrooms. Guests can have a warm water bath whenever they want especially on cold mornings.
