Isunga Lodge Location & Overview

Isunga Lodge is situated on an elevated ground at the edge of Kibale National Park, within a 20 minutes driving distance to Kanyanchu visitors centre – the starting point for chimpanzee trekking. Isunga lodge is the ideal safari getaway for the avid sightseer and passionate naturalist.

There are over 50 volcanic crater lakes in the surrounding area, the Rwenzori Mountains loom in a close distance, Queen Elizabeth and Semuliki National Parks are within a short driving distance.

Isunga Lodge is comprised of six traditionally thatched cottages serenely spread across the hillside. The cottages are self-contained and comfortable, with each of them having an ensuite bathroom with both hot and cold water and a flushing toilet.

The location of the cottages offers an exquisite on top of the world view; below is the dense and misty view of the rainforest, the intriguing explosion craters of the Ndali Kasende field, the lush greenery and the imposing Rwenzori Mountains.

Self-contained cottages 

Isunga Lodge is comprised of well-furnished cottages fitted with ensuite bathroom and toilet facilities. Each cottage features a queen size bed and a double bed, a wardrobe, writing desk, sitting area, private veranda and a well-maintained terrace.

Isunga Lodge Restaurant and bar

Isunga Lodge has an on-site restaurant and bar which are found at the main area. The restaurant serves both local and international cuisine comprising of delicious dishes prepared by professional and experienced cooking staff.

The bar offers an assortment of beverages and refreshments including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can sip at a glass wine and unwind after an exhausting trek or hike.

Supply of solar power

Isunga Lodge has a supply of solar electricity for lighting and charging in all its lodging facilities to ensure guests have an uninterrupted safari experience. The Solar system blends well with the surrounding eco-system.

Supply of running water

The lodge has a supply of running water in all its facilities to ensure the maintenance of a good hygiene and absolute comfort for the safari traveller. The bathrooms have a supply of both hot and cold water, to make a warm bath possible in the middle of an African jungle.
