Details of the 1 Day Jinja City Tour & white water rafting

On the first day of your tour to Jinja, your driver guide will pick you up for a drive to Jinja as early as 6:00am. You start the drive early to avoid the city jam making your first stop at Mabira forest.

Mabira forest is about 45 Minutes’ drive from Kampala. It is the only remaining nature low land tropical rainforest in central Uganda. Mabira forest remains one of the leading tourism sites for one to go for nature and forest walks to see birds and primates. You will spend about 1 hour on a nature walk in the forest.

Your Jinja trip then continues as you drive past several tea plantations as you see several activities being done on the plantations. From there you continue and visit Sezibwa falls, a scenic falls that is associated with the kingdom of Buganda, here you will learn a lot about the culture and traditions of Buganda Kingdom.

After the visit to Sezibwa falls, the drive continues arriving in time for lunch. You have lunch at a hotel in Jinja then after visit the source of the Nile, you take a boat cruise to the point where the first European John Speke noted the source of the Nile Rivers as he noticed the water separating from the Lake Victoria water.

After the visit to the source of the Nile River, you then drive through Jinja town for a city tour. You see the different architectures of the former industrial town of Uganda. After the city tour, you then embark on the drive back to Kampala marking the end of your trip.

Alternatively, if you want to have an adventure experience of white water rafting you transfer from Kampala directly to Jinja and embark on a white water rafting experience. Rafting takes about 5 hours on the Nile River as you enjoy the white waters of the Nile. White water rafting ends at about 3:00pm then after you have late lunch and return to Kampala. Depending on how much fun, you would want to have, you choose the Grade of rafting you need either Grade 5, Grade 3 or a family raft.
