5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Tour is an amazing trip for gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and wildlife tours including a game drive and boat cruise. The 5 days trip takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking.
Chimpanzee tracking will be at Kyambura Gorge of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You take game drives at Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the tree climbing lions and other mammal species. From Queen Elizabeth National Park, you then transfer to Bwindi forest.
Mountain Gorilla trekking is such a lifetime experience lasting about 2-6 hours. The permit cost is for a single trek per person for persons above the age of 15 years. The trip is private and can start any time of the year for any number of persons.

5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Tour – Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Early morning, after breakfast a professional Uganda gorilla tour guide from Wild Jungle Trails will meet you for a transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You are driven on a 4×4 wheel safari vehicle on a fairly tarmacked road along Kampala- Masaka –Mbarara route. About 80km from Kampala, there will be a stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photography and geographical experiments.
The drive continues to the southern hemisphere for your Uganda gorilla safari, you have lunch en route at Mbarara town. Driving further to western Uganda, the rolling terraced hills of kigezi highlands and the long horned Ankole cattle are part of what will constitute your scenic drive. On arrival at your preferred accommodation facility, your driver guide ensures check in for dinner and a nights rest at the hotel or lodge.

Day 2: After an early morning breakfast, your Uganda safari driver guide will pick you up from the accommodation facility for a drive to the gorilla trekking sector headquarters. At the headquarters, briefing on the tracking etiquette starts before 8:00am local time. During briefing, a total of 8 tourists are allocated a single gorilla family to trek according to fitness levels.
Each gorilla safari Uganda trekker then receives a trekking stick and heads to the jungle in company of the park rangers and guides, Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is unpredictable because of the movement behaviors of the gorillas and therefore the activity lasts about 6-8 hours. These hours are spent in search of the gorillas however only 1 hour is spent the presence of these gentle giants. At the end of this memory filled 1 hour, you return to the park headquarters where you receive a Uganda gorilla trekking tour certificate. Later after that, you meet with your safari driver guide for a drive to your lodging facility. Accommodation as the previous night
Day 3: This morning, you have breakfast in the beautiful foothills of the gorilla land then after embark on the transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey will take you through the small homestead and towns like Kasese town that was commonly known for its copper mining during the colonial era. You will proceed to Fort Portal town arriving in the evening at your lodge close to the park.

Day 4: After an early breakfast, you’ll have briefing session by the park officials and later set off to the rainforest on the chimpanzee tracking adventure. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, take the Bigodi swamp walk. Bigodi Swamp is popular with many swamp endemic birds. The swamp is also a major livelihood for the local community through tourism and crafts. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight as per the previous night.
Day 5: After breakfast, you will proceed back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight. This will definitely be an evening flight marking the end of the 5 days trip.
Day 1: From a lodging facility in Kampala, your Uganda safari guide will pick you up for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey to south western part of Uganda starts with the first stop at the equator line about 84km from Kampala.
Here you have a photography time at the world’s centre line and have a few experiments, after then you continue with the drive having lunch en route. You continue with the drive towards south western Uganda arriving in the evening just in time for check in, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: After breakfast, drive towards Kasenyi and visit the crater lakes, Edwards and George which has been popularly marked as the mating ground for several antelopes, particularly for the Uganda kob. You may be lucky to also sight more wildlife that may include lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other animals. Head back to your lodge for lunch and then proceed on an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. Enjoy the rays of the setting sun on the launch cruise. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Following breakfast at your lodging facility you embark on the drive to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. The Kyambura Gorge is also known as the valley of apes situated in the far eastern corner of the park. Approximately 1km across at its broadest point and about 100 meters deep, this is one of the scenic places a traveler can ever visit. During the trek, look out for the birds residing by the riverine swamps and forest such as herons, kingfishers, fish eagles, and much more.
After the trek, you’ll have lunch then after transfer on a road drive through the ishasha sector popular for tree climbing lions to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arriving in the evening after enjoying the backdrop of the kigezi highlands you reach in time for dinner at a booked lodging facility.

Day 4: Early breakfast, proceed with packed lunch and a bottle of water into the tropical rainforest for gorilla trekking activity. Receive prior briefing by the ranger officials by 8:00am then head straight into the forest. The trek is unpredictable and could last up to 6 or more hours. Watch these creatures as they feed, play and grumble to each other while you take their pictures.
Dinner and overnight like the previous night.
Day 5: After a beautiful night in the foot hills of the gorilla land, you embark on the road drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for a departure flight. You will have lunch en route and can purchase any craft materials at several souvenir shops along the way if you wish to.
